Source notes

Monthly merchandise trade for the Sultanate of Oman in millions of Omani Riyals, from NCSI's National Summary Data Page (the IMF e-GDDS national page, linked from https://www.ncsi.gov.om/NationalStatistics). Three flows: imports (total recorded merchandise imports, cif — SDMX TMG_CIF_XDC), exports (total merchandise exports, fob — TXG_FOB_XDC) and re_exports (fob — TRX_FOB_XDC). The source's own hierarchy makes total exports the sum of oil & gas, non-oil and re-exports, so exports already contains re_exports and the two rows must not be added together. Imports are the recorded figure; NCSI's unrecorded imports estimate is annual only and is not included. Series start 2006-07; months the source leaves blank (2016-01/02 for every flow, plus scattered early re-export months) are omitted rather than zero-filled. The workbook declares UNIT_MULT 6 (millions) and the parser refuses to run if that or the monthly frequency changes. The national data portal's Knoema Foreign Trade dataset (data.gov.om/tkjlhlb) was rejected as the source: it publishes total merchandise exports annually only, its monthly coverage (imports, non-oil exports and re-exports by H.S. section) starts 2014-01, and it ships raw riyals under a "Million Omani Riyals" unit label. Country and H.S.-section breakdowns are out of scope for v1.
